Low Cost Medical Insurance In California -- Proven Steps To Big Discounts

What can someone do to pay relatively little for sufficient California medical insurance? If you must enjoy big discounts, then you must NOT fail to do certain things. I'll show you some of them here...

1. There are established name brands in the pharmaceutical industry. You'll raise your rates if you buy big brand name drugs. But did you know that all generic drugs are constrained by law to have the same active agents as brand name drugs? The inactive agents are the only dissimilarities between generic drugs and brand names.

So by using brand names you truly aren't enjoying added value even though you are paying a lot more. But make sure you ask a doctor you can truly trust about this before you make your final decision.

2. You'll get cheaper rates if you make your payments by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). This authorizes your bank to credit your insurer with your premium payments automatically until you stipulate to the contrary. This brings down administrative overheads like those incurred when sending payment notices. Your insurance provider gives you part of what they save by reducing your premium.

3. For people who have a longtime ailment that makes it hard or too expensive for them to find private individual health insurance, the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (COBRA) insurance could give a cheaper option.

4. Certain states provide home business owners an opportunity to lower their rate. Those states make it mandatory that insurance companies offer home based businesses the same rates as they do other (larger) businesses.

And all it requiries for your home business to qualify is just one employed worker.

You can have your wife/husband or grown up child to work as a member of staff. Furthermore, you'll still be eligible if that single staff works only part time.

Group rates are generally lower so do your best to take advantage of this if you're a home business owner.

To know if you are eligible or even if your state has such offer, call your state's department of insurance, department of financial services or their equivalent.

5. There are things that you would do well not to see a doctor about as it only increases your health care cost without any real benefit. Clear example are viral infections like flu for which your doctor can't help. Applying some home remedies will really help in those situations. It's generally known that doctors can't do you much good if you have a viral infection.

There's no way you can justify spending $100 for something you should have dealt with by yourself. Other examples are minor bruises that just simple first aid will handle properly.
Teach yourself simple first aid procedures. There are several things that you can (and should) handle if you have taken the time to learn and as well have a well-equiped first aid box.

But that said, it's better to err on the side of caution and visit a doctor if you are unsure. And a word of caution to individuals who may believe they know so much (while they are not trained medical personnels) know what you should not even attempt except there's no way to get to a doctor on time. There are things you're not meant to even attempt if you are not a medical doctor. Handle what you should and let your doctor do those he/she should. If you do this right you will pay less in health insurance and at the same time not endanger lives.
